Our stay was great! The house and location were exactly as described. The space was perfect for friends getting together from all over. It was family-friendly, clean and comfy. The host was very responsive and understanding as we were finalizing guest numbers week of our stay due to illness. We had inquired about earlier check-in and opted not to pay the cost for a guaranteed early check-in, but our host still notified us as soon as the house was ready for us. The house had everything we needed for cooking meals for a large group and plenty of room to spare.

Our host was incredibly accommodating and truly saved our Christmas after we had to cancel our original reservation at another location. They responded quickly and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, making a stressful situation so much easier. The property itself exceeded all expectations—the pictures simply don’t do it justice! Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, and the space was spotless, cozy, and exactly what we needed for a memorable holiday. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Beautiful setting on the river. The views from the house out to the river are amazing. The house is very large. Our family enjoyed an early Christmas gathering at the house. Christmas decorations were very nice. Lots of restaurants nearby.

This was a great place to stay for our team as we attended an area conference. Everyone had plenty of space, took opportunity to eat together, and debrief around card games each night. The kitchen had everything we needed and we used the grill for dinner. The stay was so good that we booked the house for the following year before we left town. Our hosts were incredibly responsive and I got messages before I knew I would need them, ie. check-in, check-out. We can't wait to come back next year.

A great spacious space with hot top, river view, and not too far from Chicago. Note that water source is from a well, so take bottled water if you are sensitive.

The house was great for the 11 of us! We weren’t around much to enjoy all of the amenities, but would highly recommend for multiple families! Lots of room, comfy beds, and peaceful setting!!

Coming from out of state to host Christmas for my very large family is a big undertaking. Book a memory made it easy. The Fox River Retreat had all the kitchen cooking + serving supplies necessary to prepare a holiday meal for 17 staying at the house plus more extended family stopping by. The house was incredibly spacious so we could all hang out together or separately w/out ever feeling cramped. The Airbnb hosts were excellent communicators from the pre-booking experience through our stay. They graciously procured and set up a Christmas tree knowing the nature of our visit and swiftly responded to a few minor issues noticed at checked in. The house was well stocked w/essentials like handsoap, tp, detergent, etc that made us feel welcomed . Enjoyed playing ping pong, the fireplace ambiance & ample space to play board/card games. Loved the plentiful, unobstructed & beautiful views of the river. Our holiday goal to connect w/family was a success - looking forward to returning to FRR.

Awesome, clean house. Huge, comfortable house. Everything you need for the good stay is inside the house. We enjoyed the time spent there. Hot tube this is something amazing. There is a river, fresh air. Great hosts. Our with friends recommendation for staying there♥️

Had a great trip with friends and able to relax in the peaceful setting. The backyard firepit was great, and the space downstairs is much larger than the pictures indicate.

Great place to stay when you have a lot of people that you want staying together. Lots of bedrooms and bathroom. Beautiful view of the river. Everything was wonderful.
